Armenia fully restores electricity supply

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 2, ARMENPRESS. The activities on the elimination of the results of widespread deprivation of energy supply are finished in the provinces of the Republic of Armenia and in the capital. Press secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resourcesof the Republic of Armenia Lusine Harutyunyan stated it in a conversation with Armenpress. She noted that the problems related to the electricity supply are entirely solved and there will be no turning off during the day.

At 10.00 and 10.30, November 2 mass energy deprivation took place in some parts of the republic and in the capital. The electricity system of Armenia was isolated from that of Iran, as a result of which the settlements of Armenia were deprived of energy. The nuclear power of the Republic of Armenia was taken out of the energy production net on September 22 for refueling , the annual planned reconstruction , as well as for the investment of security measures. These activities will last 54 days. So, at the course of those days 198 megawatts electricity was imported to Armenia from Iran. In the result of energy system isolation of the republic the frequency of the system decreased to 45 Hz which was the reason for the deprivation of energy. Electricity supply was restored in a number of parts of the republic earlier while in the other parts activities were under process.
