OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to visit Yerevan on November 4

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 1, ARMENPRESS. The Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Ambassadors Igor Popov of the Russian Federation, Jacques Faure of France, and James Warlick of the United States of America, will arrive in the Republic of Armenia on November 4. The Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Balayan informed “Armenpress” that it is considered that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will have meetings with the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Edward Nalbandyan.

Davit Babayan, the Press Secretary of the President of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic, informed “Armenpress” that this time it is not considered that the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will pay a visit to Stepanakert.

The Co-Chairs announced about their visit yet on September 27 in New York, where the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian met the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mamedyarov, the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group- Igor Popov, Jacques Faure and James Warlick as well as Andrzej Kasprzyk, Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office.

The Ministers and Co-Chairs continued discussions concerning the essence of the peace process.

The Co-Chairs underlined commitment of their three countries to support peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue based on the non-use of force or the threat of force, territorial integrity, and equal rights and self determination of peoples. They also referred to the statement of their three Presidents on June 18, 2013, with special stress to the appeal to the sides to refrain from any actions or rhetoric that could raise tension in the region and lead to escalation of the conflict.
