Armenian-Russian talks ongoing regarding grant mechanisms of gas price compensation: Armenia's PM

YEREVAN, JUNE 17, ARMENPRESS. The negotiations are ongoing between the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation regarding the compensation of 30 percent of the gas price customs value. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan stated this in an interview to "Liberty" radio station. As reports "Armenpress" among other things the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan underscored: "I have discussed this issue with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev during my recent visit to Minsk. We discussed what could be done to receive assistance in the form of grant to soften the raise of those 30 percents." In addition the Prime Minister highlighted that the issue must be discussed inside the Russian Federation as well. "We have already received positive responses from our Russian colleagues. The current discussions refer to the mechanisms. The gas price is a very painful issue for us and it also has a negative impact, as currently we face issues of poverty and social intensity in Armenia," underlined Tigran Sargsyan.
