National Security Council Secretary is certain to find Armenian-Russian cooperation 
mechanisms in gas tariff issue

YEREVAN, MAY 30, ARMENPRESS: In the framework of the Armenian-Russian strategic cooperation mutual assistance mechanisms will be found in the gas tariff issue. This was stated on May 30 by the Secretary of the National Security Council of the Republic of Armenia Arthur Baghdasaryan during the meeting with the journalists, highlighting the increase in price for the gas and the Armenian-Russian strategic relations. “We will find some mutual assistance mechanisms connected with the gas tariff and our state will make corresponding actions to alleviate the increase of the gas price, especially for the needy layers of the society”, - said the Secretary of the National Security Council of the Republic of Armenia Arthur Baghdasaryan, adding that the alleviation will be considerable.

As reported by Armenpress, the Secretary of the National Security Council evaluates the Armenian-Russian relations as bright and positive, emphasizing the cooperation in different fields. “In all the spheres the Armenian-Russian cooperation is actively and efficiently develops”, - assured Arthur Baghdasaryan.

"Armrusgazard" CJSC and "Transgaz" LLC applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, offering to raise the current gas tariff from AMD 132,000 to AMD 221,000. It is suggested to raise the present price for the gas from 132,000 AMD to 221,000 AMD for the users (subscribers), who consume up to 10,000 normal cubic meter of gas monthly, VAT included. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan sent an official letter to the Chairman of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia Robert Nazaryan. In accordance with the letter the Government of the Republic of Armenia will subsidize the gas tariff for 30 percent.

The Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia considered reasonable to make the gas tariff 156 AMD. On May 15 the citizens gathered at the Government building demanding not to raise the gas tariff. The citizens intend to make the protest actions continuative and spread the wave in the marzes as well. On May 29 they impeded the works of the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia during the discussion of the gas tariff issue.
