Talks on gas tariff with Russia go on highest level: Tigran Sargsyan

YEREVAN, MAY 20, ARMENPRESS. Armenia continues negotiations with Russia regarding the gas tariff issue on the highest political level. The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia stated this at the May 20 session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, when MP Khachatur Kokobelyan asked the Prime Minister why Armenia does not import gas from Iran. As reports "Armenpress" the Prime Minster of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan stated: "The negotiations are aimed at the discovery of such measures, which will enable us either to reduce or subsidize the gas price. Sometimes, it seems to be very easy to come to an agreement with the countries providing gas. It's not easy for any country of the world to find solution of this issue." In addition the Prime Minister noted that the settlement of the aforesaid issue involves a number of actions.

"Armrusgazard" CJSC and "Transgaz" LLC applied to the Public Services Regulatory Commission of the Republic of Armenia, offering to raise the current gas tariff from AMD 132,000 to AMD 221,000. It is suggested to raise the present price for the gas from 132,000 AMD to 221,000 AMD for the users (subscribers), who consume up to 10,000 normal cubic meter of gas monthly, VAT included.
