The Armenian mountaineer “taken prisoner” in the Georgian Ushba Mountain still has food supply

Yerevan, August 10, ARMENPRESS: The Georgian rescuers established contact with the Armenian mountaineer who climbed the Ushba Mountain located in the territory of Georgia and found out that he still has food supply.

As “Armenpress” was informed by the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations because of bad weather conditions a helicopter cannot reach the Ushba Mountain, and it will take three gays from the rescuers to reach there.

The Armenian Embassy to Georgia received information on August 9 that the Armenian citizen A. M. climbed the Georgian Ushba Mountain for mountaineering and because of the lack of supplies he cannot descend on his own.

As “Armenpress” was earlier briefed by the Armenian Embassy to Georgia, the Embassy established contact with the emergency department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and found out that rescue services are being taken. Now ways of reaching the place and rescue the Armenian citizen are being developed, but the capabilities of the rescuers are limited because of bad weather conditions.

The Armenian Embassy to Georgia jointly with the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations watches the process of the rescue operations. All the possible means are taken to assist the Armenian citizen.
