Armenian Relief Society to attend UN Conference on Women’s Issues

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 22, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Relief Society will take part in 56th UN conference on women's issues February 27-March 9 in New York. The annual conference attended by various non-governmental organizations will be on the topic of "Women living in rural areas, their activities, roles in the fight against poverty and hunger".

Armenian Relief Society will participate in the conference with various programs. This year the ARS started the series of initiatives with a presentation of a report on women's issues which was placed in the UN website.

Apart from that, discussions on funding of women's projects and their health and reproduction in rural places will be organized in collaboration with Women's World Banking on February 29.

Armenia's permanent representative in UN Karen Nazaryan will also participate in the discussions.
