Eighth Yerevan book fair opens

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 20, ARMENPRESS: The 8th Yerevan book fair opened today in Khnko-Aper children's library and will last till February 26. This year the fair coincided with the 500th anniversary of Armenian typography and declaration of Yerevan as World Capital of Book.

Chairman of the Writers Union of Armenia Levon Ananyan congratulated all on the holiday.

Chairman of the National Association of Publishers Mkrtich Karapetyan said the association has 40 members who are participating in the fair separately or with united pavilions. More than 1000 books published during past 1-2 years are presented at the fair.

The fair of the children's book is being conducted under the auspices of Ministry of Culture.
