Digital broadcasting in Armenia to start in three years

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 7, ARMENPRESS: Analogue broadcasting will be suspended in the whole territory of Armenia from January 1, 2015, in accordance with the law "About Television and Radio". Since then only digital broadcasting will be implemented.

An official from the Television and Radio National Commission told Armenpress that 91 TV companies are operating in the Republic.

All the TV companies recognized the winners in the tenders for broadcasting through digital broadcasting network assumed commitments in accordance with the tender suggestions presented by them.

The law "About Television and Radio" establishes the rules and terms of licensing of radio broadcasters for ensuring digital radio broadcasting from July 20 2013. Before the conduction of tender for radio broadcasting license, the acting radio companies will continue their activity in accordance with their license terms.
