Programs in social sphere underway in Karabakh

YEREVAN, JANUARY 24, ARMENPRESS: Last year Nagorno Karabakh's Social Insurance Ministry has implemented 50 programs by state means spending 16 billion 800 million drams for that aim. Speaking to Armenpress Armenian News Agency, NKR Social Insurance Minister Narine Astsatryan said they completed the year without social obligations. The minister said the main objectives of the 2011 social protection sphere were the improvement of ethnographic situation, creation of normal conditions for the activity of a citizen, smoothing the social polarization in the society, improvement of pension insurance system and conduction of employment policy.
During the past year a number of amendments have been made in a number of acting laws of the sphere. "The main work was directed toward the preparation for pension reforms as a result of which we had a new law on pensions the consequences of the application of which will be felt in 2014," Astsatryan said.
Speaking about programs to be implemented this year, the minister said all the programs that acted during the 2011 will continue in 2012 as well. "Moreover, new programs will be brought to life relating to the employment sphere," she said, adding that with the NKR's state draft budget 18.3 billion AMD have been allocated for the implementation of 53 programs in social protection sphere.
