YEREVAN, DECEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian met on November 3 with Ayman Safadi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, who is on an official visit in Armenia.

As ARMENPRESS was informed from the press service of the President’s Office, Ayman Safadi conveyed the warm greetings of King of Jordan Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein to Armen Sarkissian, as well as his commitment to progress the bilateral relations between the two countries.

President Sarkissian recalled with warmth his visit to Jordan in April and his meeting with the King, noting with gratitude that the Royal family of Jordan has always had a warm attitude towards the Armenian people. The President said that he had a very constructive discussion with the King and expects in the near future the visit of His Excellency to Armenia.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan emphasized the important role of the Armenian community of Jordan in the life of the country.

During the meeting the sides referred to the opportunities of developing bilateral relations between the two countries and realizing the existing potential more productively. The interlocutors shared the opinion that the two countries have numerous similarities – they are both carriers of ancient civilizations, not being rich in natural resources, Armenia and Jordan value human resources.

Armen Sarkissian and Ayman Safadi also shared the opinion that the two countries can successfully cooperate in the spheres of high technologies, education, science, agriculture, food security, tourism and highlighted the implementation of practical steps.
