YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. A 31-year-old convict serving a prison sentence for grand larceny has escaped while receiving treatment at a civilian hospital in Yerevan.

The department of corrections said Arayik Sargsyan, an inmate at the Nubarashen Correctional Facility, escaped from the Erebuni Medical Center around 05:00, November 18.

Arayik Sargsyan has 7 prior convictions.

According to a description provided by authorities, the prisoner – 170cm tall, muscular, black hair and brown eyes - was wearing a black pullover, a black tracksuit and slippers at the time of the escape. He has a wound covered with medical dressing at the left side of his neck.

Authorities called on anyone having any information about the whereabouts of the convict to contact police (102 or 010-44-29-04). Authorities said they guarantee the confidentiality of anyone who will provide information.
