‘Being big investor doesn’t mean to be good investor’ – Mayor of Yerevan on Sanitek
YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan assures that applying to the International Court of Arbitration by Sanitek will not affect Armenia’s ranking.
Asked whether this will not affect Armenia’s rating given the fact that Sanitek is a large investor, the Mayor told reporters: “Being a large investor doesn’t mean being a good investor. We are ready to this whole process. We have all evidences that Sanitek failed to properly conduct its work. Moreover, at the moment numerous criminal cases have launched involving Sanitek, connected first of all with tax liabilities, as well as I recently was informed from the media that this company also has several liabilities with other companies and didn’t pay their money”, the Mayor said.
On October 3 Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan terminated all contracts with Sanitek, the waste management operator in Yerevan.
