YEREVAN, AUGUST 27, ARMENPRESS. The National Security Service (NSS) is searching the premises owned by former Minister of Finance and former State Revenue Committee President Gagik Khachatryan, NSS Director Arthur Vanetsyan confirmed to reporters.

He said the NSS is searching Khachatryan’s private house, apartment as well as the territories and premises owned by people affiliated with him.

Vanetsyan denied media rumors that Khachatryan has been arrested.

“The search is still ongoing, Gagik Khachatryan will be detained to the NSS after it is completed. The criminal investigation is launched on misuse of particularly large amounts of money and official misconduct,” Vanetsyan said, apparently indicating that the case is launched on suspected crimes committed when Khachatryan was holding public office.

He refused to disclose further details for now.
