Armenian government approves financial support procedure for 2008 unrest victims

YEREVAN, AUGUST 8, ARMENPRESS. The Government of Armenia today approved the procedure of providing financial assistance to victims of the 2008 March 1-2 unrest in Yerevan.

The bill was presented by Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan at the August 8 Cabinet meeting.

The financial support will be carried out from the state budget.

Citizens eligible for applying can submit applications to the Justice Ministry within three years.

An authorized body will evaluate and validate the documents of applicants.

Legal successors of people who died during the 2008 events will receive 30,000,000 drams in assistance.

People who were gravely injured will receive 15,000,000 drams.

People who suffered moderate injuries will receive 5,000,000 drams.
