Issue of stopping arms race in region has been and remains in agenda – Armenian FM

YEREVAN, MARCH 13, ARMENPRESS. The issue of stopping the arms race in the region has been and remains in the agenda of Armenia’s foreign ministry, foreign minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said during a joint press conference with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák, in Yerevan, commenting on the question addressed to Lajčák regarding the arms sale to Azerbaijan by Slovakia.

In response to the question, the Slovak FM said they have discussed this issue with the Armenian foreign ministry for many times, and the issue is already closed.

“This issue has existed in our bilateral agenda. It requires more attention from all of us from the viewpoint that we do not welcome arms race in the region and are quite sensitive on such matters. We are thankful to our partner that we managed to be engaged in such dialogue. This has been and remains in our agenda not only in this, but a broader context”, Armenian FM Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said.

OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Miroslav Lajčák arrived in Armenia on a working visit. He is scheduled to meet with the top leadership of the country.
