OSCE observer mission leader describes 2018 Dec. 9 election as ‘Armenian Wonder’

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 27, ARMENPRESS. MP Peter Osusky, the OSCE observer mission leader in the 2018 December 9 general election in Armenia, has spoken about the polls during the OSCE PA’s winter session, describing it as the victory of the Armenian people, Armenian delegation head Hayk Konjoryan told a news conference.

According to him, Osusky has noted that fair and transparent elections took place in Armenia.

“The key issue for Armenia was the report about the 2018 December 9 parliamentary election. Peter Osusky, who was the OSCE observer mission leader in Armenia for the election, delivered the report. He emphasized that the election was conducted in conformity with fundamental rights of democracy and human rights and freedoms. He noted that the absence for important electoral violations that were taking place in the past, namely the absence of vote buying, created great opportunity for truly fair and transparent elections to be held in Armenia”, Konjoryan said.

According to him, Osusky described the election in Armenia as “an Armenian wonder”.

He said that Osusky noted the victory of the election to be the people’s victory, and not any political force.

Osusky has mentioned that the 2018 December 9 election in Armenia was the most impressing election for him in the past 20 years.

The winter session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly took place in Vienna.

The Armenian parliamentary delegation included MP Hayk Konjoryan, MP Ani Samsonyan, MP Tigran Urikhanyan, MP Maria Karapetyan and MP Hamazasp Danielyan.
