YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 25, ARMENPRESS. Mkhitar Hayrapetyan, chairman of the Armenian parliamentary standing committee on science, education, culture, Diaspora, youth and sports affairs, continues his visit in the United States which is being carried out by the proposal and sponsorship of the Melgonian World Initiative, the Armenian Parliament told Armenpress.

On February 22 the committee chairman visited the significant centers of the Armenian community in Las Vegas, such as churches, the Saturday school and the Armenian Genocide Memorial.

During the visit to the St. Karapet Church, the guests were introduced on the history of the construction of the church, as well as on the challenges and problems facing the community.

Thereafter, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan visited the Armenian Saturday school which is attended by nearly 60 Armenian school-children. He was introduced on the school’s activity, the achievements of the students, as well as the existing problems in the educational facilities of the Diaspoa.
