YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Defense minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan on December 18 held a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller, the ministry told Armenpress.

During the meeting Rose Gottemoeller highly appreciated the participation of Armenian peacekeeping troops in the NATO operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo, attached importance to the joint efforts for capacity development, improvement of mutual partnership, as well as the cooperation on military education and other directions.

The sides exchanged views on the implementation process of the Individual Partnership Action Plan, as well as on other programs.

The defense minister presented to the guest the reforms of the defense legislation conditioned by the constitutional changes, the new initiatives aimed at improving the military service, modernizing the defense education, improving the civilian and public control system of the Armed Forces, as well as the cooperation prospects.
