anniversary

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 18, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s minister of labor and social affairs Artem Asatryan congratulated ARMENPRESS news agency on the 99th anniversary of establishment.

According to the minister, ARMENPRESS news agency has a very important contribution on making the services and policy carried out by the public administration authorities completely available to the different circles of the public.

“It is very important for the citizen to be fully informed which is useful in terms of correctly conducting the state policy. I think it’s very difficult to overestimate this agency’s role in terms of proving valid information to our public. I really attach importance to this fact since today the information provided to our society should be impartial and accurate. This in its turn leads to public’s right perception of the policy run in Armenia. This fact is very important in the development process of our state”, the minister told ARMENPRESS.

He wished the staff to continue the work successfully and with the same effectiveness and have a contribution to the strengthening of the state.

ARMENPRESS news agency was established on December 18, 1918 when by the decision of the National Council of the first Armenian Republic an unprecedented state-run news agency, Armenian Telegraph Agency, was created.  Currently, ARMENPRESS news agency operates as a Closed Joint-Stock Company the stocks of which are owned by the Republic of Armenia. The agency is the oldest in Armenia. At the moment it produces eleven newslines: official, politics, economy, society, regional, international, Armenian world, culture, sport, life, innovation, interviews and photo news.
