YEREVAN, DECEMBER 15, ARMENPRESS. The prosperous Iranians live, the much benefit it will bring for Armenia, President Serzh Sargsyan said during an interview with ARMENIA TV.

“It is beneficial, because trade will be boosted, tourism flows will be boosted, as well as our interactions. After all, each society consists of individuals, subjects, and the more prosperous these individuals live, the more prosperous the entire society will be. Iran is our friend, we have thousands of years of experience in interacting with Iran, and the current commercial turnover volumes aren’t enough for us, great potential exists here and in order to realize this potential stability and peace is necessary in Iran, and in this case we too can benefit from that stability and peace”, he said.

President Sargsyan presented Armenia’s stance regarding the developments around the Iran Nuclear Deal, and whether or not they will jeopardize Armenian-Iranian programs, which were significantly boosted in 2017.

“We have always expressed our stance, we’ve expressed it publicly, expressed it during our meetings, and we find that the agreements which were reached as result of negotiations stem first of all from our interests, stem also from the interests of the parties, therefore, certainly it is desirable that this agreement is maintained and it is desirable that the provisions of this agreement are implemented”, he said.
