Armenian President holds farewell meeting with Lebanese Ambassador

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 14, ARMENPRESS. President Serzh Sargsyan on December 14 held a farewell meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lebanon to Armenia Jean Makaron, press service of the Presidential Office told Armenpress.

The President highly appreciated the Ambassador’s activity during his tenure, stating that he, as an active Ambassador of a friendly country, has made a great effort for deepening the Armenian-Lebanese relations. President Sargsyan thanked the Ambassador and wished success in his further activity expressing hope that the new Lebanese Ambassador to Armenia will have a contribution to intensifying the bilateral interstate relations. The President attached importance to the continuous work on deepening the relations for the benefit of the two countries and peoples.

The sides agreed that Armenia and Lebanon managed to ensure a high-level political dialogue, conduct a mutually beneficial partnership in international structures, develop the inter-parliamentary, cultural, educational, scientific contacts, enrich the legal framework base.

The officials noted with satisfaction that in the recent years the Lebanese investment in Armenia’s economy have been intensified to some extent.

The Armenian President and the Lebanese Ambassador exchanged views also on the situation and developments in the Middle East.
