Armenian Parliament Speaker receives Ambassador of Romania

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. Speaker of the Parliament Ara Babloyan on December 8 held a farewell meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Armenia Sorin Vasile, the Parliament told Armenpress.

The Parliament Speaker appreciated the Ambassador’s contribution to the expansion and deepening of the Armenian-Romanian relations, stating that the friendship of the two peoples has a centuries-old history.

Talking about the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement signed in Brussels on November 24, the Speaker said Armenia, opening its doors to Europe and EAEU, is ready to contribute to the establishment of EU-EAEU dialogue.

Ara Babloyan also attached importance to the cooperation of the friendly countries in other international platforms.

In his turn the Romanian Ambassador thanked for the reception and touched upon the achievements reached in the bilateral ties during his tenure in Armenia.

He noted that he witnessed democracy development in Armenia during his tenure.

As for the Armenia-EU new agreement, the Ambassador stated that Armenia, as a member of the EAEU, has a great potential and chance to become a bridge between the EU and EAEU.

Ambassador Sorin Vasile expressed gratitude to the Armenian Parliament for the cooperation with the Embassy, as well as for boosting the bilateral friendly ties.

At the end of the meeting Speaker Babloyan wished success and new achievements to the Ambassador in his further activities.
