YEREVAN, JUNE 14, ARMENPRESS. The newly introduced bus route en route Yerevan Republic Square to Zvartnots airport began operating at 10:00. Another bus started the route in the opposite direction simultaneously.

The first passengers on the bus included journalists and officials of the ministry of transportation, communication and IT.

Aram Arsenyan, deputy minister of transportation, communication and IT told reporters Republic Square was chosen as the point of origin of the route taking into account the large tourists flow and the proximity to the subway station.

“This is a test route. Studies will be made during this period taking into consideration the flight timetable, the passenger flow during different hours of the day, and changes will be made accordingly”, he said.

Meanwhile at Zvartnots, passengers were eager to reach downtown Yerevan by the new bus route, and were happy to note that the price is really cheap, compared to bus tariffs in many other European countries.

The route costs only 300 drams per passenger.
