Armenia ready for prospective programs: Healthcare project worth 750 mln USD awaits investor

YEREVAN, MARCH 27, ARMENPRESS. AIHS-American International Healthcare Systems has developed an investment program on building modern medical center (500 beds) in Armenia.

The program, which was submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments and the Development Foundation of Armenia by an American-Armenian businessman, will include a hospital, retirement home, boarding school. The center will also have a medical school.

Vahagn Lalayan, Head of Investment policy department at the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments, told “Armenpress” that the structure will be unique in the region and will have an opportunity to engage patients and visitors from other regions as well since the hospital will provide contemporary services with latest diagnostic equipment, the most advanced treatment methods.

Vahagn Lalayan said the installation location is still unknown, the investor will decide it. The program was presented by the private sector and for that purpose it appeared in the Ministry’s investment platform aimed at finding investors. In case of finding investors, a meeting will be held with the person who presented the program and they will further discuss and develop its technical part.

Lalayan stated that the total value of the investment program is 750 million USD. “The hospital only can cost nearly 70-100 million USD. The program was presented by an American-Armenian who is ready to invest funds, but he cannot alone implement the entire program”, he said.

The investment program is at the development stage, the option of implementing the program in phases is being discussed.
