Citizen of Azerbaijan of Talysh nationality, who has asked for a political asylum from Armenia, has made a note on his Facebook page asking his relatives not to worry for him, as he is very well treated in Armenia. He also responded to those who criticized his step of asking for a political asylum from Armenia.

“My dear nation, my beloved Talysh people, I apply to you from the capital of Armenia, Yerevan. I wish you peace and all the best. Here I am surrounded by Armenians and feel very well, though I miss my relatives and friends. I want my friends and relatives to calm down. I and my family face no threats here. I ask you not to worry. I was forced to flee to save me and my family from possible death, but I cannot understand why some Talysh people criticize me together with the pan-turkists and blame me for something that is done by the family of the Aliyevs”, “Armenpress” reports Mirzoev wrote.

He added that such behavior is not appropriate for his nation. “My dear, it’s not appropriate and is an alien mentality. I save my family by fleeing and at the same time put an end to the informational blockade of Talyshistan. I know you would never want to become the slaves of that clan, in that case tell me how to fight against them? I had to die in prisons or save somehow me and my family’s life, my underage children. I have chosen this option since I am convinced I can yet do something for my nation”, Shahin Mirzoev concluded.
