NKR citizens actively take part in referendum: international observers satisfied

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 20, ARMENPRESS. Active participation is realized in the Constitutional changes referendum in the 3/8 polling station of Stepanakert, Nagorno Karabakh, reports “Armenpress”.

“International observers also visited our polling station, particularly from Abkhazia, who recorded that the voting is being held in a proper way”, Chairwoman of the polling station Lyudmila Hovhannisyan said on February 20.

Emma Gamisonia, observer from Abkhazia, said the voting is being held at the highest level. “Today is a historical period in the NKR. We have visited all regions of the Republic and I can say that great activeness is realized in the polling stations. I think there is a great progress in terms of human rights in the NKR”, she said.

The referendum on the draft Constitutional changes has kicked off in the Nagorno Karabakh Republic (NKR).

280 polling stations of 11 electoral districts were opened on February 20, at 08:00, one of which is in the NKR representation in Armenia, and the one in “Shushi” correctional facility for convicts.

102 thousand 757 citizens have a right to take part in the referendum.
