YEREVAN, JANUARY 17, ARMENPRESS. Arpine Hovhannisyan, Justice Minister of Armenia, participated on January 16 in the meeting entitled “2015-2018 CoE-Armenia action plan: achievements and prospects” in Strasbourg. The minister thanked the Council of Europe for organizing the meeting and briefly presented the works which have been done in the field of democratic reforms in Armenia, the justice ministry told ARMENPRESS.

Hovhannisyan touched upon the 2015-2018 Armenia action plan, the process which followed the Constitutional reforms, as well as the 2012-2016 strategic plan of judiciary reform, which were approved by the President of Armenia. In this context, the minister pointed out several important achievements, namely the introduction of a electronic mechanism for distributing the legal cases among judges, definition of objective standards of evaluating the activities of judges and others.

The minister also presented the large-scale anti-corruption works of the past 2 years in Armenia and prospects of development of the Justice field.

Arpine Hovhannisyan thanked the Yerevan office of the Council of Europe for effective cooperation in various fields and stressed that the Armenian Government appreciates the possibility of launching new programs.
