YEREVAN, JANUARY 16, ARMENPRESS. Russian lawmaker, former heavyweight boxing champion Nikolai Valuev has commented on a bear encounter in Armenia’s mountains while on a visit with his coach. Valuev told the story online in response to a question about the most extreme situation he has been, bryansktoday.ru reports.

The former heavyweight champion said he encountered a bear in Armenia’s mountains during a morning jogging exercise.

“It was the size of a bull. I stood still, and my coach ran downhill. The bear went the opposite direction”, he said.

Valuev joked saying it was unclear who was escaping faster.
