YEREVAN, JANUARY 9, ARMENPRESS. Nearly 1.5 million Armenian nationals visited Georgia in 2016, “Armenpress” reports Georgia’s Department of Tourism informs.

Armenia ranks 2nd among the countries from where tourist flows to Georgia were the largest.  Azerbaijan tops the list with 1 million and 523 thousand tourists, while 1 million and 496 thousand Armenian tourists preferred Georgia in 2016. Turkey comes next with 1 million and 254 thousand tourists. Russia ranks 4th with 1 million and 37 thousand tourists, TASS informs.

164.5 thousand Armenians visited Georgia in December, 2016, making Armenia the leader of the monthly results.

6 million and 351 thousand tourists visited Georgia in 2016, which is an increase of 7.6% against 2015.
