Armenia’s Davit Hovhannisyan captures gold in European U20 weightlifting championship

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 7, ARMENPRESS. Armenia’s weightlifter Davit Hovhannsyan captured gold at the U20 European Championship in the Israeli city of Eilat.

Hovhannisyan lifted 149kg in snatch and 177kg in clean and jerk.

Overall 13 athletes were representing Armenia in the championship.

Smbat Margaryan, Gevorg Baghdasaryan, Razmik Osetyan, Karush Ghukasyan and Mkrtich Mkrtchyan will compete in the U23 championship.

Izabella Yaylyan finished 5th.
