Armenia plans to increase volumes of exported energy

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 23, ARMENPRESS. Armenia plans to increase the volumes of exported energy, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hayk Harutyunyan told a press conference in “Armenpress”.

He said steps are taken for the energy to have leading positions in the list of exported goods.

“Energy is ranked 6th in the list of goods exported from Armenia. We want to raise this position. A number of works are carried out for regional integration. Currently we are constructing two transmission lines, the one to Iran, and the other to Georgia. We plan to complete the construction works of the two lines until 2019. Thanks to it, our mutual flows, transit capacities will increase by 10 times. Armenia will become a serious transit country. In that case we will be able to effectively utilize our capacities”, Hayk Harutyunyan said.
