YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 17, ARMENPRESS. Minister of Culture of Armenia Armen Amiryan has not applied for the membership to the Republican Party of Armenia, reports “Armenpress”.

The Minister told reporters in the Parliament that he hasn’t decided yet whether to join the RPA or not.

“I think that the country’s new governance model supposes that any new Minister must be held responsible in terms of being a member of party or not. Any Minister becomes a member of a party on his/her own, he/she is not being suggested, pressured or obliged, rather the person becomes a member on his/her own will”, the Culture Minister said.

To the question whether it is possible that he will become a party member before the 2017 parliamentary elections, the Minister said: “I am talking about this, I still have time and will make a decision”.

At the same time he didn’t rule out that the RPA has certain ideas that he can share.
