YEREVAN, OCTOBER 19, ARMENPRESS. Editor of Aleppo’s Gandzasar Weekly Zarmik Poghikyan has expressed concern over the attempts of presenting the Syrian-Armenian community as disorganized and miserable, and the facts of distorting the reality.

Zarmik Poghikyan entitled her response “We shouldn’t response to you in your vulgar style”, and highlighted that the initiators of the disinformation campaign began to be revealed.

“Unfortunately, with Armenian letters, but totally lacking consciousness of Armenian collective interests, sometimes creating stirs to increase the number of readers, sometimes accompanied by undermining the Syrian-Armenian community, without having any idea how the Syrian-Armenians have held their dignity high in conditions of severe crisis, continuing to enjoy the respect of all segments of the population, and mutual trust. I repeat, with pain in my heart, not only do they spread disinformation in a level of vulgarity, but also put all efforts to contribute to the collapse the community by exploiting the pain of the Armenians of Aleppo, by using especially the famous means of Syrian Armenians who witnessed the Middle Eastern turmoil, by listing of which I won’t be disclosing any great secret:

1. Creating an atmosphere of distrust in the society against their leaders
2. Presenting people as miserably awaiting and sometimes not receiving corresponding aid, by using the serious economic conditions of the people.
3. By using images published in our press – presenting the reality upside down, and diverting not only the opinion of the Armenians of Aleppo but also the opinion of the entire global Armenian public to an extent when aids start to seem useless and get suspended.
4. Presenting the community as disorganized and abandoned, in order to create enough fertile ground for generalization of disinformation.

No, ladies and gentlemen,

We shouldn’t talk in your vulgar language, we shouldn’t use your vocabulary, we shouldn’t abase to a level of pouring water on the mill of those who are fighting day and night with bombs and gas tanks to neutralize our being.

We must respond with our honest work, with our unity, by the affirmation of mutual trust and atmosphere of respect and we should transform our pain into a force of re-organization, to Armenian manner speech, helping one another, respecting and supporting.

And history must document as to who, why and how supported the Syrian Armenians.
