Fresh fruit-vegetable exports from Armenia increase drastically

YEREVAN, AUGUST 9, ARMENPRESS. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Robert Makaryan told reporters currently export volumes of fresh fruit-vegetables exceed the entire previous year’s overall indicator.

According to him, the exports volumes are scheduled to reach 120 thousand tons this year.

“As of this moment 85,326 tons of fresh fruit-vegetables have been exported. Last year, 76,700 tons were exported during the entire year. We have a drastic growth in the export area”, he said.

Regarding the exports of apricots, Deputy Minister Makaryan said despite negative forecasts, the export process of apricots is still ongoing.

He said around 20 thousand tons of apricots have been exported this year.

According to him, 85 percent of the exports were shipped to Russia.
