YEREVAN, AUGUST 4, ARMENPRESS. The Armenian Government has made a decision to establish “Energaimpex” state company with 100% shares which will enable to buy, import and export gas from Iran.
“The decision was made taking into account that currently there is no structure in Armenia which can have a right to buy, import and export electricity and gas as a transit country from other states, in particular, from the Islamic Republic of Iran. With this decision we will have a structure in our country which will have those rights and will implement it”, “Armenpress” reports, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Levon Yolyan said in the Government’s August 4 session.
The establishment of the company will enable to increase the import of natural gas from the territory of Iran making the use of Iran-Armenia gas pipeline more productive.
Based on the agreement reached between Armenia and Iran gas and electricity exchange is being carried out.
