German MFA calls 11 Turkish MPs not to visit Turkey

YEREVAN, JUNE 11, ARMENPRESS. The Foreign Ministry of Germany called the Bundestag MPs with Turkish origin not to visit Turkey, reports “Armenpress”, Der Spiegel informs.

On June 2 the Bundestag adopted a resolution recognizing the mass massacres of Armenians in the Ottoman Empire as genocide.

After that, Turkey immediately recalled his Ambassador from Berlin calling wrong Germany’s decision. Official Ankara announced that it will adopt “action plan” against Germany.

In his turn, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly criticized the Turkish MPs of the Bundestag for not voting against the resolution.

Erdogan suggested to conduct laboratory examination of the blood of Turkish MPs to reveal their nationality.

Erdogan’s such statements were viewed as an attack against the parliamentarians.
