Ukraine is not yet ready for NATO membership

YEREVAN, MARCH 8, ARMENPRESS. 'To discuss Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO issue, Ukraine should be ready to make the appropriate steps,' Acting Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO Yegor Bozhok said, "Armenpress" reports.

"Today Ukraine is not ready to join NATO. That is why we, together with the alliance focused on how to bring a defensive sector and security sector of Ukraine in line with the standards that are applied in NATO. That will allow us to discuss more substantially the issue of Ukraine’s membership in NATO” - Bozhok noted.

EarlierJunker stated that Ukraine won’t be able to join NATO, EU for another decade.

“However, at one time president very clearly named the condition under which the issue could be put on the agenda of political consultations. These are the results of a national referendum in Ukraine.” – added the Acting Head of the Mission of Ukraine to NATO.
