Front line officer told new details over Permyakov’s case

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 5, ARMENPRESS. Front line officer Mikhail Khachatryan, who participated in works on searching Permyakov, was the first to be questioned in the trial session over the case of Russian soldier Valery Permyakov, accused in the gruesome murder of the Avetisyan family, which continues in 102nd Russian Military Base on February 5.

As “Armenpress” reports, he told he was on military duty when in the night of January 12, at around 4:00, the information reached the border that a soldier escaped from the military base checkpoint. The witness mentioned that during that time they started the search and even entered and searched Permyakov in several houses. But their search during this period gave no results.

Only later, at Bayandur picket of Russian frontier detachment # 2012 they saw that someone is coming up to them with a flashlight. At that time Mikhail Khachatryan found out that the approaching person is the wanted soldier and they arrested him after cautionary instruction. The arrested had three mobile phones and some cash with him. Then they informed squadron commander Sergey Merzlik about the mentioned case.

By the way, after lawyer Lusine Sahakyan's question, it became clear that the witness told only the Russian side on some details as Armenian side did not ask him about the aforementioned.

Representatives of the picket gave Permyakov under auspices of the operative group of the frontier troops which moved him to the military base. According to Khachatryan, Armenian side was informed on Permyakov’s attempt to cross the border only after he was moved to the military base.

It is planned to question 16 witnesses over this case: Two dwellers of Yerazgavors and front line soldiers.

The 6 members of the Avetisyans family were shot and killed in Gyumri at around 6 a.m. on January 12, 2015. The only survivor was 6-month old Seryozha Avetisyan, who was transferred to a hospital with injuries caused by a cutting and piercing tool. The child’s health condition became worse on January 19. After fighting for his life and undergoing several difficult surgeries for a week, six-month old Seryozha Avetisyan also died on January 19. There was severe renal insufficiency and cardiac insufficiency, and doctors weren’t able to save his life. Soldier of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Gyumri, Valery Permyakov was charged with killing the members of the Avetisyan family and causing numerous injuries to little Seryozha. Russian border guards found him when he was trying to cross the Armenian-Turkish border and handed him over to the commanders of the 102nd Russian military base. Permyakov confessed his guilt.
