Basically there were no violations during referendum: National Assembly President

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 8, ARMENPRESS. President of Armenian National Assembly Galust Sahakyan has such opinion that basically there   were no violations during the referendum. “A process which was attended by 1 million people may have some intrigue, but mostly there were no violations,” NA President Galust Sahakyan said during the interview with journalists in the National Assembly referring to the question on the violations during the referendum. As to the observation that the violations were committed by the RPA order, the NA Speaker said that they were not by the order of RPA, but by ANC's instruction in order to have the opportunity to complain.

As to the question that PACE monitoring group also talked about obvious referendum violations, Galust Sahakyan answered: “They were not monitoring groups but representative groups which record the situation. It is important who has invited them. It depends on who is inviting the group and under influence of which political power they are.”

Galust Sahakyan expressed confidence that even if referendum violations are detected and the offenders are punished, the violation cannot have any influence on the results of the referendum.
