Rise Project” exposed Azerbaijani network operating in Romania

BUCHAREST, SEPTEMBER 3, ARMENPRESS. The human rights organization “Rise Project” operating in Romania and neighboring countries published an extended material headlined “The Azerbaijani network in Bucharest. The money of Aliyev’s dynasty” on September 1 on the occasion of Khadija Ismayilova’s conviction. The article exposes the entry of Azerbaijani offshore sums to Romania and the links between Azerbaijani companies and Romanian political circles.

Different state and private organizations of Romania, including the MFA of Romania (the latter rejects the allegations), are mentioned as the official partners in the documents of “Heydar Aliyev” fund operating in Bucharest in 2007.

“Armenpress” reports that “Heydar Aliyev” fund registered in Bucharest, Popa Soare 39 address is the target for journalistic investigation which is guarded by patrols as a diplomatic institution without relevant documents: the Police officially announce that the office operates as a diplomatic institution while the MFA refutes.

The article mentions that a number of Romanian organizations which are funded by offshore sums of the Aliyevs form a great network together with other pro-Azerbaijani organizations and individuals. Their activities sometimes are outlawed. A number of Romanian prominent names are revealed in the article as having links with that network.
