Armenian deputy of Turkish Majlis demands Camp Armen to be returned to Armenians

YEREVAN, AUGUST 14, ARMENPRESS. Armenian Selina Dogan elected as a deputy from the Turkish Kemalist Republican People's Party expressed her annoyance over the attack on the young people supervising the territory of the Armenian Camp Armen located in the Tuzla district of Istanbul. As “Armenpress” reports citing “Agos” periodic Dogan stressed that the attack carried out on the symbolic 100th day of the resistance for the preservation of the Armenian orphanage has its root reasons.

The Armenian deputy representing the Kemalist party mentioned that the Camp Armen has not been returned to its real owners despite the promise given by the ruling “Justice and Development” party before the parliamentary elections.

“The Camp Armen built by Armenian orphan children including Hrant Dink, which is very important for the society must immediately be returned to its owners”, Dogan mentioned, adding that the Armenian orphanage has become a symbol not only for Armenians but also for the forces struggling for democratic values.

Unidentified persons made a racist attack at the security guards of the famous Armenian orphanage “Camp Armen” in Istanbul Tuzla District on the 100th day of the resistance organized for its preservation. The organizers of the resistance and members of “Nor Zartonk” initiative spread a statement informing that unidentified persons in 2 cars came to the orphanage territory and beat two persons on guard duty in “Camp Armen” at 23:30, August 13.

The members of “Nor Zartonk” initiative assured that this attack, which is an evidence of genocidal conscience, will not break their resistance. “We inform the society that we will continue “Camp Armen” resistance with the same determination. We again urge all our friends to support “Camp Armen” resistance”, is said in the statement.
