Anne Brasseur attaches importance to Armenian Genocide Centennial events

YEREVAN, 13 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Anne Brasseur attaches importance to the events dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide in terms of warning the future generations about such atrocities and preventing such events from happening in the future.

As “Armenpress” reports, during a briefing at the National Assembly, Anne Brasseur recalled that even though peace was established after the First World War, its foundations were not strong, and the Second World War was followed by the creation of organizations, including the Council of Europe, the goal of which was to prevent such crimes. “Unfortunately, we weren’t able to prevent the other serious conflicts, but we have to learn the lessons. We can build a future together. As today’s political figures, it is our duty to prevent new conflicts. First, it means that we have to remember the past. We must warn the future generations about such atrocities,” the PACE President said.
