Australian-Armenian Gladys Berejiklian appointed first woman treasurerof New South Wales

YEREVAN, 1 APRIL, ARMENPRESS. Australian-Armenian political figure Gladys Berejiklian has become the first woman treasurer of New South Wales. The state budget of New South Wales ($70 billion Australian Dollars) will be under her supervision. As “Armenpress” reports, the Armenian National Committee of Australia left a comment on this and congratulating the Armenian official on the Committee’s Facebook page. The Committee mentions that it is impatiently waiting to work with the new cabinet of New South Wales and that the cooperation will provide an opportunity to touch upon the issues that are important for the Armenian community of Australia.

Born in 1970 in Sydney, Australian-Armenian political figure Gladys Berejiklian used to be the Minister for Transport of New South Wales. She is the vice-chairwoman of the Liberal Party of New South Wales.
