YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 20, ARMENPRESS-ARTSAKHPRESS. The trial of Shahbaz Guliyev and Dilham Askerov, two members of the Azerbaijani sabotage and reconnaissance group, which illegally crossed the state border of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic through the Shahumyan region in July of the current year, continues in the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.

As reports “Armenpress” citing “Artsakhpress”, a video material shot by the saboteurs was introduced at the court session. Among other things, it shows the under-age resident of the Shahumyan region Smbat Tsakanyan, who was killed by the saboteurs, carrying the back pack and sleeping bag belonging to one of them. In the video materials Dilham Askerov states that on his way he captured an Armenian “pig” of approximately 20 years old. Also, Akserov highlights that they can’t let him go, as he can give them away.

Responding the questions put forward by the judge, Askerov stated as if the kid accompanied them on his own will and he was free to go away whenever he wanted to. In addition to this, he confessed that if he wasn’t arrested this time, he had an intention to violate the NKR border again in future as if to visit the graves of his relatives. In this regard, the positions of the two saboteurs again contradicted one another, as Guliyev claimed that they had never discussed the issue of visiting the graves, while Askerov said that Guliyev is lying.

As reported earlier, in the result of the operative investigation activities carried out by the NKR Defense Ministry, the NKR National Security Service and the relevant units of the NKR Police, a criminal case was initiated, based on the collected preliminary materials, in connection with the subversive operations carried out by the Azerbaijani citizens, who were arrested in Shahumyan region. As “Armenpress” was informed from the NKR General Prosecutor's Office earlier, in the result of the operative investigation activities carried out by the NKR Defense Ministry, the NKR National Security Service and the relevant units of the NKR Police, in Shahumyan region of NKR, Azerbaijani citizens, who illegally crossed the state border were discovered and arrested.
