YEREVAN, JULY 8, ARMENPRESS. The assistance provided to Kessab is already being distributed to the residents. In a conversation with “Armenpress” this was said by Kessab-Armenian Karo Manchikyan, adding that the first assistance will be provided for the restoration works of the houses. Then, the next support will be allocated to the agriculture, restoration of workshops, purchase of necessary equipment. Karo Manchikyan said that the first assistance, which had been distributed to the residents, was provided by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation. “So, all the assistance sequentially will be distributed to the residents of Kessab, and life will be gradually normalized"- said Manchikyan. He also said that the Syrian Red Crescent Organization provided the residents with household items. Small packages with necessary items were provided by the Greek Orthodox Church.

Women still continue cleaning the apartments. As for the crop, Manchikyan noted that this year's apple crop is good - this circumstance comforts the residents.

Kessab was liberated by the Syrian army on June 15, and the large part of the population has returned there. In Kessab all the institutions, homes and apartments, without exception, are damaged. Some of them are uninhabitable, some burnt, plundered and robbed, others - suffer minor damages.
