YEREVAN, APRIL 7, ARMENPRESS: The Armenians of Ukraine are first of all citizens full of high sense of responsibility who actively participate in different political processes. Armenpress reports that by the assessment of the Chairman of Political Analysis and Management Ukrainian Institute Ruslan Bortnik the Armenians have frequently been in the frontline of political and social events and have sacrificed their lives for the sake of good future of their country.

“The Armenians of Ukraine are deeply integrated into the political, public and social sectors and have their greatest contribution to the development of Ukraine. Today the Armenians of Ukraine are more than ever integrated into the society of the country and administration system: that is the reason that any joy in Ukraine is joy for Armenia and the Armenian people.  A fresh example for sorrow and loss is the death of two Armenian activists in Maydan,” the expert told aspekty.net.

Currently there are nearly 120 thousand Armenians in Ukraine, however, by the non-official data; Armenians in Ukraine are a few times more. They mostly live in Kiev (40 thousand), Odessa, Kharkov, Donetsk, Lvov, Zaporozhye, Crimean cities and elsewhere.
