Armenia's Parliament Speaker promises to hold parliamentary discussion on gas issue

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 6, ARMENPRESS: The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan promises in the nearest future to touch upon the initiative of the non-governmental powers on the establishment of a commission on gas issues in the Parliament. During the discussion of the activities program 2014 of the Public Services Regulatory Commission the deputy of the Parliament’s Armenian National Congress faction Hrant Bagratyan again put forward the issues of the difference of the prices for the natural gas on the border and when it gets to the consumer, as well as the Government’s debt of $300 million for gas, reminding that their faction wanted to establish a commission to discuss these issues but the majority rejected the bill.

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan responded to the speech of Hrant Bagratyan: “Mr. Bagratyan, we will by all means discuss the issues you have raised and the initiative, which you present. We will by all means organize discussions and I will appeal to all the political parties to participate in the discussions”, - said Abrahamyan, Armenpress reports.
