YEREVAN, JANAURY 31, ARMENPRESS. The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the involvement of the Blue Mosque of Yerevan in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage. As reports "Armenpress", on January 31 the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Mehran Shiravand stated that Iran has put forward the suggestion regarding the involvement of the Blue Mosque of Yerevan in the UNESCO list of cultural heritage. Mehran Shiravand stressed: "In this respect we welcome the efforts of the Armenian side. The meetings of the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Armenia Hasmik Poghosyan in Tehran also contributed to this initiative."

Among other things Shiravand noted that the Iranian embassy is very active in Armenia and the activity of the Armenian community in Iran has also had its positive impact on this issue. He also said that it's not accidental that the majority of the tourists visiting Armenia come from Iran. In addition Shiravand stressed: "This fact proves that our people loves the Armenians."

Also the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia Mehran Shiravand noted: "The Iranians consider the Armenians to be the closest nation in the region. The Armenians have a lot of interesting peculiarities. They are very exigent and hopeful about future." Notwithstanding he also laid a heavy emphasis on the intelligence and high cultural level of the Armenian people.
