YEREVAN, OCTOBER 24, ARMENPRESS. Movie "The Seasons of the Year" by prominent Armenian documentary filmmaker Artavazd Peleshyan has been nominated for "Top Ten Documentary Films of All Times and Countries" in Amsterdam International Filmfestival. This year the festival will be held on November 14-25. In a conversation with "Armenpress" Artavazd Peleshyan mentioned, that he will not leave to Amsterdam and be present in the presentation.

Regarding the fact that world mass media kept this event in the centre of their attention the famous film director humbly said: "Maybe that kind of extra attention is not so necessary. I have already passed my age of expectations." This outstanding film director is not so interested in the participation in such festivals, contests or other events of this kind. Peleshyan said: "I had only one interest when I was making those films. But now it has already been forty years". The fact that his movies are still being shown and watched is something to think about. But the director has his own viewpoint on this: "This means I was on a right way."

In her letter the director of the festival Ally Bergs says: "It is a great honor for us to introduce Your astounding and immortal movies in the frames of our festival…" When the great film director was asked what the "The Seasons of the Year" is about, he answered – about everything! Not merely about the seasons or man, but that movie is about everything.

Peleshyan denied the news that the Armenian film director dwelling in Russia wants to make a movie in the motherland and mentioned that there has not been any suggestion about that. When the director was asked whether he expects any suggestion or not, Artavazd Peleshyan abruptly answered that he does not expect anything.

The director of the National Cinema Centre of Armenia Gevorg Gevorgyan said that it is not accidental that the movie by Artavazd Peleshyan has been nominated in the festival. Gevorgyan said: "His movies are still demanded and modern." He also said that Artavazd Peleshyan has already agreed to visit Armenia in spring and take part in "Hayak" Awards.

Next year the director of genius will be 75. In the words of the filmmaker Sergei Parajanov, Peleshyan is "one of the few authentic geniuses in the world of cinema".
